Surround Yourself

Mind

Finally surround yourself with like minded people. People who will help you be the best version of yourself. Seek a community group of fellow believers to help you know you are meant to be the best version of yourself. Even if you don’t get into a group of believers. Just seek genuine people that believe the best in you and are willing to help you.

Our peers do have an impact on who we are. If you are surrounded by uplifting people, then you will have the accountability to be the best version of yourself. We all have an opportunity to influence people we are around. The statement is true that 'bad company corrupts good character'.

Don't be fooled by those who say such things, for "bad company corrupts good character." 1 Corinthians 15:33 NLT

What we compromise in life is our character if we are around a poor environment. When we surround ourselves with people who are striving to be the best they can be. Then it will inherently strive us to be the best we can be. Remember, people are rooting for you. As any endurance race there are people on the sidelines with signs and encouraging you to continue. You are meant to be the best version of yourself, but it will take time and help from one another.

In conclusion, this is not about being perfect. Our best versions will continually have flaws, but that is not something we should keep our focus on. It is about being the best we can each do each day. Real love draws out the best in everyone and looks out for their best interest. No matter what always look for the best in yourself and one another.

Action Step:

Reflect on your current friend group and who you surround yourself with. Ask yourself to see if they make you a better person or just make you coast through life.

Bible Verses:

“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.” Ecclesiastes 4:9 NLT

“For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” Matthew 18:20 NLT

“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” Proverbs 27:17 NLT

“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13 NLT

“Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family.” Proverbs 18:24 MSG

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1
